This program is a “work in progress”. With that in mind, be aware that this document will undergo periodic changes. Those changes will be posted in a timely manner either at the Tiller Club Bulletin Board or the CBI Racing Forum.
The “CBI Policies and Rules”, and any special instructions from dock staff, shall apply to all competitors, at all times.
The “Sailing Instructions” of the Tiller Club of Community Boating shall apply except as follows:Any CBI member with a rating of helmsman or higher may skipper a boat. Any CBI member may crew for a skipper with a helmsman or higher rating.
The race committee my order any boat to discontinue racing if in the race committees’ opinion that boat has not, or will not, be handled in a safe and seaman like manner, and obey the “Racing Rules of Sailing”.
Any Cape Cod Mercury hull (center board or keel version) may be used Sails with blue numbers may not be used. Any mercury jib may be used.
Any number of competitors may be on the boat.
There will be no hull rotations. If fleet “A” goes back to the dock for a second rotation the race committee may allow fleet “B” to continue racing during that time.
If fleet “B” is comprised of two or fewer boats, the race committee may elect to combine fleets or cancel fleet “B” racing at its’ discretion.
Any boat that plans on racing shall tell the race committee the sail number they plan to use. Late arrivals shall notify the race committee of their plan to race before racing .
There will be no fees imposed. There will be no prizes given.
Starting and Finishing
All boats shall keep well clear of the start line, start area, and racing area until after all fleet “A” boats have cleared the starting area after their start.
The starting signals for fleet “B” shall begin as soon as possible after the start for fleet “A”. This will hold true regardless of the time of day.
Fleet “B” has all of the same rights and responsibilities as fleet “A”.
Starting and Finishing Times
The first fleet “B” race will begin immediately following the first break for hull rotations for fleet “A” or 11:30 AM, whichever is later. The last race of the day for fleet “B” will be started immediately after the start of the last race for fleet “A” regardless of the time of day.
If two or fewer boats are delaying the start of the next race, the race committee may terminate the race and score each boat in the place the race committee believes that boat would have finished.
