For the sixth year in a row Community Boating will be hosting our Annual Halloween Night Regatta on Thursday, October 31st from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Come dressed in your best costumes as prizes will be awarded!

Notice of Race

1. Rules
1.1. The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of US SAILING, the ISSA Procedural Rules, this Notice of Race.
1.2. There will be no sailing instructions. This is intended to be a scored but informal event for the display of costumage and sailing at night with a racing focus.

2. Eligibility
2.1. Must be members of CBI or guests of a member
2.2. The helmsman of each boat shall have at least a Mercury Yellow rating

3. Entry and Communications
3.1. Click here to register!
3.2. Selling your soul to CBI’s resident evil will constitute an entry fee.
3.3. Registration deadline is before the skippers meeting or once we reach twenty; whichever is first.

4. Class
4.1. CBI’s Keel Mercury fleet will be used for the event. All equipment will be provided. Standing rigging should not be modified. Decorating and costuming of boats is allowed. Boats should be returned to their pre hallows’ eve condition upon completion of the evening’s trick-or-treating.
4.2. No single-handing; 2-4 sailors per boat. Only corporeal sailors count towards these limits.
4.3. Boats will be assigned by the Race Committee in a devilish manor.
4.4 Reefing will be allowed, and may be required by CBI to prevent ghoulish outcomes.

5. Schedule
1730 – Skipper’s meeting (come rigged and in costume)
1800 – First Warning Signal (haunting begins)
2000 – No race begins after this time (the witching hour)

6. Courses
6.1. Friday night courses as posted on the racing board.
6.2. Racing will use the large Friday-Night tetrahedrons. They’re ORANGE for Halloween!!!!

7. Scoring and Prizes
7.1. Glowsticks will be distributed liberally, and may be required for navigation.
7.2. Candy will be distributed miserly (just kidding) and will NOT be required for navigation.
7.3. The regatta will be scored using the low point scoring system. There will be no throwouts.
7.4. There will be prizes for the best costumes (team and/or individual).
7.5. There will be prizes for the top three racers (candyyyyyy!!!!)
