Individual appointments may be booked a maximum of 30 days in advance.
Groups: please contact [email protected] to book your appointment.
UAP members may reserve entire boats for lessons or sails 2 times per week. UAP members and guests may reserve unlimited seats for Guided Recreational Sails!
Our booking software does not enforce the two-reservation-per-week limit, so you will be on the honor system when booking appointments. Our staff members do review all appointments that are booked.
The Universal Access Program operates on a reservation basis. You must register online via our scheduling webpage, if you require assistance, you may contact the Universal Access Program at [email protected] or call 617-523-1038 to book an appointment.
Sailing Lessons and Guided Recreational Sails are 75 minutes long. If you require adaptive seating and/or a hoyer lift to transfer into the boat, please indicate as such when booking your appointment. UAP members make up to 2 boat reservations per week. There are no limits for UAP members and their guests when booking seats on Guided Recreational Sails. Sail all season as long as much or as little as you want! Guided Recreational Sails give you the opportunity to meet other members of our community!
Also, due to popular demand, a waiting list webpage is available. Members who wish to make more than 2 boat reservations per week may add themselves to the waiting list on the date and time that they wish to sail. If space is available, we will confirm your wait listed appointment at least 24 hours in advance. If you require assistance signing up for the waiting list, please contact [email protected] or call 617-523-1038.
We understand that members may not always be able to keep an appointment that they schedule. If an individual or group cannot make it to an appointment, you must cancel at least 2 hours before the start of the appointment, or it will be considered a no-show. The exception to this is if you have a 10:00am or a 10:30am appointment, in which case you must cancel at least 1 hour before the start of your appointment.
Cancellations are quick and easy, and can be done in one of three ways:
- Using the link in the confirmation email you receive after booking an appointment
- Calling the Front Office at 617-523-1038 ext. 10
- Emailing [email protected]
No-shows impact the operation of the Universal Access Program because members may be on the waitlist and boats are set up in advanced. We understand that medical and personal emergencies do come up making cancelling in advance tricky or impossible. If an emergency does come up please contact CBI to provide a valid reason for the absence.
If an individual or group does not show up within 20 minutes of the start of the appointment or cancels after the appointment was scheduled to start, they are considered a no-show. In addition to that, if you cancel within two hours of your appointment starting (one hour for 10:00am or 10:30am), it is considered a no-show. Member(s) who do show up past the 20-minute mark cannot go on the water unless they called ahead to inform us.
If an appointment is a no-show, a Universal Access Program instructor will cancel the appointment and subsequently call or email the participant to discuss the matter. The first time a participant has no-showed, they will be given a warning and advised to cancel appointments in advance.
No-showing a second time, an instructor will cancel all future appointments and put the Program Director in contact with the participant. No-showing more than two times will result in the individual or group being removed from the Universal Access Program schedule for two weeks. Subsequent no shows will be dealt with on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Program Director.
No-shows severely impact the Universal Access Program, preventing CBI from fully utilizing its resources. Groups and members who no-show to an appointment should contact CBI as soon as they are able to provide a valid reason for their absence. Our staff will follow-up to confirm future appointments. Members who no-show to a second appointment without providing a valid reason will forfeit their future appointments, and will be required to speak to a Program Director before booking new appointments. In view of CBI’s limited resources, CBI reserves the right to cancel the memberships of individuals or groups who abuse this policy.
