Junior Program STEM Education

This purpose restricted fund is designed to support the Junior Program’s environmental science class and cyanobacteria research. We are committed to providing an enriching experience for our junior members by offering educational opportunities that promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world.

The Junior Program STEM Education fund will help us achieve this goal by providing financial support for the development and implementation of our environmental science curriculum. This includes the purchase of equipment and materials needed for hands-on experimentation and data collection.

Additionally, the fund will support our ongoing research into cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria exist at some level in almost every body of fresh water. In recent years cyanobacteria blooms, especially in the Charles River lower basin, have received a lot of attention in the media. Under some circumstances a bloom might produce cyanotoxins, which can be harmful when ingested. There is a lot of science to be done to fully understand the environmental and health risks associated with cyanobacteria. Community Boating is doing its part.

By donating to the Junior Program STEM Education fund, you will help us provide a unique and valuable educational experience to our junior members, while also contributing to important scientific research on the Charles River. Thank you for your support!
