When you choose Community Boating Inc (CBI) for your company’s outing or event, you choose to invest in your community. CBI is a non-profit with a simple mission; Sailing For All. The funds generated from your company’s event directly supports CBI’s programming for youth and people with disabilities.
CBI’s summer Junior Program offers a full range of activities for kids including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and so much more. The Junior Program also includes an Environmental Science Program and an Instructor-In-Training leadership program. Juniors are able to get out on the water on their own to experience a degree freedom and responsibility that is hard to find elsewhere. Over 1,000 kids come to CBI each summer and approximately ⅓ come from low-income homes and pay only $1. Corporate outings and events help to support financial aid for these kids.
CBI’s Universal Access Program provides opportunities for people with cognitive and physical disabilities to get out on the water. With specialized accessible equipment and a 1:1 instructor to student ratio, members can reserve multiple sailing lessons or guided recreational sails that are customized to meet their individual needs. Group classes and racing are also offered in conjunction with our Adult and Junior Programs and give members with disabilities an opportunity to be a part of our community. Universal Access Program memberships cost $50, and those in need pay only $1. Corporate outings and events help to keep this program affordable.
