Volunteer Information for Adults

Volunteering at Community Boating

Our volunteers keep Community Boating afloat! In fact, at one of our volunteers likely taught a class for you. Without volunteer instructors and people willing to take newcomers out for Individual Instruction , there wouldn’t be much of a community in Community Boating. CBI offers many different opportunities to get involved. If you’d like to become more involved at CBI, the best place to start is by becoming a volunteer!

Volunteer Opportunities

We have many options for volunteers to become involved. From teaching classes to running rigging during work parties, volunteers are involved in every aspect of our operations. Current volunteer opportunities can be viewed here.

Those wishing to become volunteers must complete an application. Applicants will be required to undergo a background check and complete several training modules. Volunteers agree to be bound by the Volunteer Code of Conduct.

Teaching Resources

CBI provides lesson plans and standardized criteria for instructional volunteers. Teaching resources can be accessed here.
