Volunteer Awards
Volunteer Recognition and Awards

Community Boating is a special place in large part because of our volunteers, who dedicate their time to teach classes, fix boats, serve on committees, organize events, and participate in many other projects. Each year, the Board of Directors recognize outstanding volunteers for their contributions to furthering CBI’s mission of “Sailing for All” through two awards.

Volunteer of the Year Award

This award recognizes a volunteer who devoted a significant amount of time or skill to furthering CBI’s mission of sailing for all, above and beyond the efforts of other volunteers this year. The volunteer may have been instrumental in supporting a core program of CBI, implemented a novel or creative idea, or provided a necessary service for CBI.

Congratulations to the 2023 Volunteer of the Year, Phil Rossoni!

Ed Long Outstanding Volunteer Award

In recognition, celebration and honor of Ed Long’s significant contributions to CBI, particularly in teaching, racing, and volunteerism, the Board of Directors established the Ed Long Outstanding Volunteer Award. The recipient must have devoted time or skill to furthering CBI’s mission of “sailing for all” for at least 10 years, demonstrating a pattern of consistent and dedicated commitment to CBI.

Congratulations to the 2023 Ed Long Outstanding Volunteer, Arlene Lieberman!
